Not sure if this job I was emailed is a scam?

Hi, so I just got an email through my buckeyemail account from someone who claims to be a part of OSU’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department saying they’re looking for students to be a research assistant for them for remote work. In the email they gave a phone number to text them for more info on the application process and they asked me through text for my resume. Now the guy that’s on the bottom of the email is a real person at the department, I looked it up, but the email did say it was from an external source. Do you think this is legit? Or is it a scam? I just want to be on the safe side.
