Mechanical-Engineering
Hi, I am an international student deciding between unis for undergrad, don't get me wrong for posting this here but I really can't make up my mind as all these schools are so good
Penn State University(55k) us news ME rank #15 - has held a high ranking in ME for a long time, got huge funding for engineering, and is opening up two new engineering buildings, one this fall and the other next fall
It Has some fun classes like battle bots in the first year but the labs don’t start until 3rd year?https://www.engr.psu.edu/master-plan/west-2.aspxhttps://www.engr.psu.edu/master-plan/west-2.aspxhttps://bulletins.psu.edu/undergraduate/colleges/engineering/mechanical-engineering-bs/#suggestedacademicplantext
Ohio State University(59k) us news ME rank #21 - State of the art research facilities like the automotive research center and has strong ties with the industryhttps://car.osu.edu/
UW Madison(57k) us news ME rank #18 - It’s a nice program with research ties with industries and good student teams
I know that rankings don’t matter and that university for engineering doesn’t have a lot to do with employment
I plan on joining student teams like FSAE and would want a university with nice research facilities, cost is not an issue for me as all of them have similar costs
I am currently inclined towards working in the automotive industry but would like to explore my options in uni first, but I would want to work for 2-3yrs after my undergrad and then go back to completing my masters
I just can’t make up my mind as I like some things about each of them, any advice would be really helpful
